Work in The Range goes to a single licensed concreter for that patch, who prices and pours it.
Higher ground, older homes
The Range sits about three kilometres west of the city centre, home to the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens and Zoo. It is one of the established parts of town, with older homes on higher ground, and plenty of the concrete around those homes has been there a long time.
Old driveways and paths here have usually seen decades of storms, tree roots and settling. A slab that has cracked into pieces or dropped at one end is a sign of what is happening underneath, and replacing it lets the concreter fix the base and set falls properly.
Steep entries
Higher ground means some steep driveways and entry paths. A steep drive needs a grippy finish, a proper transition at the top and bottom so cars do not scrape, and a plan for the water that runs down it in a storm. A drain across the bottom is often worth more than any finish.
Character homes
Older homes often look better with concrete that does not shout. A plain broomed finish with clean edges, or a muted coloured or stencilled finish in an earthy tone, usually suits better than a bright new grey. Where new concrete meets an old path or verandah slab, a deliberate border can hide the change in colour.
Trees
Established suburbs have established trees, and roots lift slabs. Where a large tree sits near the work, sort out root barriers or a different layout before boxing, rather than once it has cracked.
Usual jobs on this side
Mostly replacement driveways, paths and patios that finally drain, and tidying the concrete at the front of an older home.

Asked in The Range
What does it cost me?
Nothing. Ringing is free and so is the form. The concreter prices the job and you can say no.
Will coloured concrete fade in the sun?
Colour mixed through the slab does not wear off, but strong sun softens every colour over time. Sealing slows fading and helps with stains. Resealing comes around every so often, sooner on an open drive than under a roof.
